SermonMate ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, process, and safeguard information when you use our mobile application.

Information We Collect

Information Stored Locally on Your Device

• App Preferences: Language, theme (dark/light mode), and settings
• Bookmarks: Saved Bible verses and stories
• Chat Display History: Recent AI chat conversation display data stored locally on your device for the in-app experience
• Reading Progress: Stories you've read

Preferences, bookmarks, reading progress, and locally stored chat display data are stored on your device. Messages you send to the AI chat feature are transmitted as needed to generate AI responses.

Information Processed Automatically

• Device Information: Device type, operating system version (for app compatibility)
• Subscription Status: Processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store and verified through RevenueCat
• RevenueCat App User ID: A subscription identifier used to verify premium access; this is not a SermonMate login account
• AI Chat Prompts: Messages you send to the AI chat feature are sent through our Supabase Edge Function to AI providers so the app can generate a response

How We Use Your Information

• Provide Bible study features and personalized content
• Power AI-driven chat responses for spiritual guidance
• Process and verify subscriptions through Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and RevenueCat
• Improve app performance and user experience

AI-Powered Features

SermonMate uses artificial intelligence (AI) to provide personalized Bible chat responses. When you use AI chat, your message is sent through our Supabase Edge Function to AI providers, which may include OpenAI and Google AI, to generate relevant scripture-based guidance. Chat display history is stored locally on your device.

Please do not submit sensitive personal, medical, financial, legal, or confidential information in AI chat prompts. AI responses may be imperfect and should not be treated as professional advice.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions are processed entirely through Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not collect or store your payment information directly. All payment data is handled securely by Apple or Google.

SermonMate currently offers weekly and annual subscription plans only. SermonMate does not currently offer a free trial, introductory offer, or monthly subscription plan.

Data Storage and Security

• Bookmarks, preferences, reading progress, and chat display history are stored locally on your device
• AI chat messages are transmitted only as needed to provide AI-powered responses
• We do not maintain user accounts or login systems
• Deleting the app removes all locally stored data
• Subscription history and billing records are managed by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• RevenueCat: Subscription management and entitlement verification
• Supabase: Secure backend routing for AI chat requests
• OpenAI: May power the AI chat feature
• Google AI: May power the AI chat feature
• Apple/Google: Subscription payment processing

Your Rights

• Data Control: You control locally stored preferences, bookmarks, reading progress, and chat display history on your device
• Deletion: Uninstall the app to delete locally stored app data
• No Account: No SermonMate account creation is required to use the app
• Subscription Management: Cancel, renew, or request refunds through Apple App Store or Google Play Store

Children's Privacy

SermonMate is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date.
